TORONTO RAPTORS - DIGITAL DEPTH CHARTS

CHALLENGE:
In the high-stakes world of NBA roster management, decisions need to be made quickly and accurately. The Toronto Raptors’ front office relied on static IBM-designed screens confined to the OVO War Room. These displays lacked flexibility, were not mobile-friendly, and couldn’t support remote collaboration—an especially pressing issue during COVID-19. Without a dynamic, responsive system, executives, coaches, and analysts faced delays and inefficiencies in accessing the roster data needed to drive critical decisions.

OPPORTUNITY:
We partnered with the Raptors’ Front Office to reimagine how roster data could be visualized and used. By transforming static screens into a responsive digital platform, we put depth charts and player data directly at the fingertips of decision-makers—whether in the War Room, on the road, or working remotely. The redesign wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about clarity, speed, and trust. Our goal was to build a single, accessible, and intuitive system that streamlined complexity, standardized processes, and empowered the team to manage rosters with confidence year-round.

OUTCOMES / METRICS

  • Accessibility: Roster data now works seamlessly across desktop, iPad, and mobile devices. As well as physical TV screens, both horizontal and 86” Verticals.

  • Remote readiness: Enabled the front office to collaborate effectively outside the War Room during COVID-19 restrictions.

  • Efficiency gains: Information is structured for quick filtering, sorting, and comparison, significantly reducing time-to-decision.

  • Year-round utility: Evolved from a draft-only tool into an all-season platform supporting trades, scouting, and roster planning.

  • Impact: Provided executives, coaches, and analysts with a trusted, unified view of the league landscape, strengthening the foundation for building a perennial championship contender.

  • 5/5 CSAT SCORE
